TECHINCAL EXPLANATIONS FOR INSTALLATION - TECH
SHEET
Our electrostatic system is based on the distribution of electrostatic
impulses of brief duration tension peaks of 80 micro sec. each, over
all architectural and structural elements to be protected against pigeons.
The electrostatic installations is essentially integrated by:
- A generator of impulses (excited in various forms so that it produces
such impulses)
- Active electrostatic lines conducting such impulses, that are installed
on every architectural element to be protected. These electrostatic
lines are integrated by two conductors made of non- rusting steel
(positive pole and negative pole) supported and kept distant by mini-
isolators.
- Interconnection electrostatic lines that connect the installation
to the generator of impulses, and series of individual active electrostatic
lines. The interconnections are made through a bipolar hoop that is
isolated between the two conductors towards the mass with a testing
tension of 15.000 Volts standard. (maximum working tension: 7000 Volts
peak)
In order to install the electrostatic lines on the architectural elements
to be protected, the mini- isolators are fixed to those elements by
adopting four different solutions in accordance with the cases and the
possibilities of the architectural structures :
- Fixed by small expansive plugs made of lead with screws of steel
AISI 316/L, that are sealed with plastic resins made of two components.
- Fixed with weld points in the case of architectural steel supports.
- Fixed in roof cornices, protected by plates of cupper, or on other
structures made of non- ferrous material by ways of silver or tin
welds.
- Fixed with two-component resins on sculptures, ornaments and every
architectural element of high artistic value.
We will adopt for each case the most suitable technical solution with
no harm for the structures.
- Even when the work is done on metallic structures, our installation
is always performed with two conductors (positive and negative pole),
without placing the negative one in mass on the metallic structures
themselves, and then, without only placing the positive conductor.
This is not a question of saving expenses or reducing the price of
the installation. It is just that the only use of the positive conductor
may not guarantee the safe functioning of the installation because
it does not guarantee a continued electrostatic conductibility of
the structures, even when these are metallic ones.
- All comments as aforementioned are applicable for works of marble
or stone, because neither do these elements guarantee the conduction
(even if the contrary is sustained)
- Our electrostatic conductors are made of small rounded rods of
non- rusting steel AISI 316/L that guarantee absolute incorruptibility
in time in the presence of the most violent atmospheric agents, whether
they are acid or salty. (we mention steel AISI 316/L because a general
reference like non- rusting steel is not suitable enough)
- Our mini- isolators are made of isolating material of high dielectric
rigidity. They also have molecular filters impeding the polymerization
and consequent weakening due to the action of ultraviolet light.
- The conductors made of the mentioned small rounded rods are not
fixed to the mini - isolators by ways of screws or rigid blockades,
but by means of clips, so that the possibility of slipping is guaranteed,
and then internal mechanical tensions which are bound to produce harmful
fractures in time, may be avoided.
- In order to strictly guarantee the electrostatic continuity of
the circuits made of several series of non- rusting steel rods, these
rods are put together to form the whole bipolar net of the installation
by ways of hundreds of welds performed one by one on the site, using
specific electrodes for steel AISI 316/L.
We never make connections with screws or alike, despite these are
of common use. The reason is that these connections, though certainly
much more economical, cannot guarantee a long- lasting safety. Then,
we can provide no guarantees. When considering the hundreds of connections
that may integrate an installation, the failure of only one of them
may affect the correct functioning of the whole installation in the
future.
- Same considerations are applicable to connections between the non-
rusting steel rods in electrostatic lines, and the cupper mini- conductors
of interconnection cables. In this case, the problem with interconnections
is even more delicate because of the delicacy of the bimetallic contact
(steel- cooper). We therefore only use welds in silver paste. We never
use binding screws or other kind of joints that could be unsafe, though
certainly more economical.
- Mini- conductors of interconnections are isolated among them and
the mass by using a 15.000 Volts tension standard.
- Following international regulations, the generator of electrostatic
impulses is provided with a double isolation entry transformer (standard
isolation transformer) as an absolute safety guarantee against any
flaw.
Every element of the installation and every construction detail are
studied and carried out so that once it is installed and subject to
tension, the installation will not need of any maintenance. In this
way, all expenses related to periodical maintenances are avoided, because
we guarantee the correct functioning of every element of our installation,
as long as no external agent damages our system.
